Acne Rosacea is a common but poorly understood condition affecting about 1 in 10 people. It can be triggered by alcohol, spicy foods, cold weather and sunlight. The skin on the face is usually flushed or red, particularly on the nose and cheeks and can change throughout the course of the day. Some other symptoms include burning and stinging sensations, permanent redness, spots, papules and pustules, small visible broken blood vessels

In the most severe cases, skin can thicken and enlarge, usually on and around the nose.

Unfortunately there is no cure for rosacea so it is important to understand your skin health in order to control and manage this condition.

Be aware of triggers, which can include: exposure to sunlight, stress, excercise, cold windy weather, heat, menopause, pregnancy, certain medications, hot drinks, alcohol and caffeine, certain foods, especially spicy foods

It is important to use gentle, calming skincare products that will not irritate the already delicate skin. Products that contain Harakeke can be helpful as they are calming and cooling, and Rose can be beneficial in reducing redness.
